Xiaoping Cai is currently the Pine Tree Foundation Rare Book Conservation fellow in the Thaw Conservation Center of the Morgan Library & Museum. Prior to the fellowship, she completed an Advanced Internship in Book Conservation at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. During this internship, she participated in various conservation projects for a wide range of collection materials, including the Armenian Prayer Scroll project submitted for the presentation. Previously she was also an intern in the conservation departments of the University College London Libraries, Victoria and Albert Museum, Liverpool Central Library and Sun Yat-Sen University Libraries (Guangzhou, China). She was the recipient of the Nicholas Hadgraft Memorial Scholarship, for attending the Montefiascone Book Conservation Summer School in Italy. She received an M.A. in Conservation from the University of the Arts London, where she studied Books and Archival Materials Conservation, and a Master of Library Science from Sun Yat-Sen University where she studied library management and collection preservation.
