Laboratory of Archaeology, National Centre for Conservation and Restoration
Technical conservator
Santiago, Chile
I am a Canadian living aboard since 1994; I resided in Turkey, Peru and now Chile. I started my professional life as a geologist from the University of Montreal. I obtained a Master’s Degree in Geochemistry from the University of Quebec in Montreal on Holocene environments from Northern coast of Peru. I always dedicated time to archaeology. So I participated in historical and archaeological field work in Canada, United States, Israel, France, Turkey and Peru. Artefact conservation became a subject of increasing interest for me. I studied Technical Conservation at The School of Applied Art in Santiago to have complementary skills and expertise. I worked as an assistant conservator for the revision, setting and dismantling of artefacts / art pieces listed for exhibitions at the Cultural Centre La Moneda in Santiago: Roberto Matta, the Universe of India and Native textiles from America. Since 2015, I am part of the Laboratory of Archaeology from the National Centre for Conservation and Restoration in Santiago where I carry out work and studies on archaeological textiles, pigments from pre-Columbian pottery and collection care assessments.
