Head of Easel Painting
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Since 2011, I am the head of the Painting Conservation Department at the Centro TAREA of the Universidad Nacional de San Martín. I came on staff in October 2004 like painting restorer after five years of private practice in the conservation of traditional and modern paintings, providing consultation on proper handling, transit and storage of artworks, exhibition and collection surveys. I became interested in conservation at my twenties. In Argentina did not exist an academic career in conservation in that time so I studied in a private studio during five years. I´ve been conserving paintings for over 15 years working as paintings conservator in many special projects like the mural paintings of Casa Rosada, Catedral Metropolitana and edificio La Prensa of Buenos Aires city. In 2012 I did a stage of two months at Opifcio delle Pietre Dure in Firenze, Italy. I was invited at the Perugia University like professor and since 2007 I have a regular position like assistant professor at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín in the conservation career. LAst year I obtained my master degree in Argentinian and Latinamerican art history in the Universidad de San Martín. My thesis was focus in the paradigms changes of the restoration along the last decades and now I am planning my PhD studies for the next year.
