Join your colleagues at the Art Institute of Chicago for this rare opportunity to explore the storage areas with members of the conservation staff. Your tour will start with conservation talks and gallery tours in the newly renovated Medieval- Renaissance Galleries (opening Spring 2017). You will have the galleries to yourself for the first hour while the museum is closed to the public. Learn about some of the resent conservation treatments for this collection. After a revitalizing coffee break, you will have the opportunity to take two small group tours which include: textile conservation and storage, prints and drawings storage, photography cool & cold storage, paintings conservation lab, objects conservation lab, book conservation lab and our historic reading room. Sign up for the tours within a tour will take place closer to the event. Note space is limited on these tours. Priority for the small group tours will be based on how early you registered for the main tour. Cost - $29
