Jody Beenk is the head of Preservation Centre at the University of Hong Kong Libraries. She was previously at Harvard, where she treated materials from the Harvard-Yenching Library in the Collections Conservation Laboratory in Widener Library. In 2001, she received the Carolyn Horton Award of the American Institute for Conservation for professional development in book and paper conservation. Beenk received her bachelor's degree in Asian Languages and Literature and a master's in Chinese Linguistics from the University of Iowa. She studied conservation at Iowa.
