Johanna Tower was the Andrew W. Mellon Fellow for Advanced Training in Textile Conservation at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston from November 2015 to November 2016. She received her Master of Science degree in 2015 from the University of Rhode Island's Department of Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design with a dual focus in Textile Conservation and Historic Costume and Textiles. Before entering the conservation field, Johanna worked in historic costume production at numerous living history museums including Plimoth Plantation and Colonial Williamsburg. She also holds degrees from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she completed a Diploma in Costume Studies in 2009, and Brown University, from which she received her Bachelor's degree in American and European Cultural History in 2006.
