Mary French has worked in the field of book conservation since 2006. She earned an MA in Conservation Studies at West Dean College, West Sussex, England, and a BA in Medieval & Renaissance Studies and Psychology at Wellesley College. She previously held positions at the Cambridge University Library, Cambridge, England, the Harvard Business School’s Baker Library, and Wellesley College’s Clapp Library, as well as internships at the Boston Athenaeum and the Leather Conservation Centre in Northampton, UK. Her specialties include contemporary and historic binding structures, leather, parchment, and unbound paper materials.
