Moya studied Art Conservation at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, specializing in paper objects. She has completed conservation internships at The Rooms Provincial Archives in St. John's, Newfoundland and the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, Massachusetts. She worked in Saint John, New Brunswick as the Post-Graduate Paper Conservation Intern on the New Brunswick Museum's Conservation Award-winning Miller Britain Mural Cartoons. This involved working in a public gallery space, interacting with museum patrons and carrying out treatment on a series of 9x9 foot chalk drawings on Kraft paper, created in 1941-42. She has also worked in the Conservation Department at Library and Archives, Canada. She joined West Lake Conservators in April, 2014.
