Olympia Diamond is the Assistant Paintings Conservator at the National Museums Liverpool, UK. Currently, she is undertaking an Art Fund supported project for the full conservation treatment and technical investigation of the Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617–1682) altarpiece, Virgin and Child in Glory, c. 1673 and its related oil sketch. She graduated with an Honors B.A. in Art History from Earlham College, Richmond, IN in 2006. After graduation she completed a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Art Conservation at Studio Art Centres International, Florence, Italy. She then moved to the UK to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in the Conservation of Easel Paintings at The Courtauld Institute of Art, graduating 2014. During this time she was a Research Associate Scholar for the Courtauld Gallery and began the research study presented in this paper during her final year dissertation. Since graduation she has worked for the Guildhall Art Gallery, London, UK and for English Heritage, UK.
