Student
Columbus, OH
Annabel Pinkney is an undergraduate student at the Ohio State University majoring in chemistry and minoring in the history of art. Annabel has been working as a student assistant at the University Libraries Technical Center preservation unit at Ohio State for two years, apprenticing in book and paper conservation under Harry Campbell. She received the University Libraries Undergraduate Research Fellowship in May, 2016 allowing her to conduct research on the treatment of medieval parchment rolls. Annabel has held an interest in pursing conservation for several years, stemming from her passion in the visual arts and excellence in physical science. In high school she took art classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art as well as received private painting lessons. She founded the Art Club at Ohio State her freshmen year, and cultivated the club from a membership of 5 to over 60 members in less than two years. Concurrently, Annabel became one of the top chemistry majors at Ohio State and worked as a research assistant in environmental chemistry in 2015. Annabel hopes to attend graduate school for conservation sciences after graduating from Ohio State. This is her first time attending an AIC annual meeting.
