Patricia Miller is Chief Conservator for The Preservation Society of Newport County where she is responsible for 11 historic house museum buildings dating from 1748 to 1902, and a diverse collection of decorative and fine arts, historic carriages, garden statuary and fountains. She is also an assistant lecturer in Pratt Institute’s graduate Historic Preservation Program.  Patricia has a Bachelor of Fine Art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1994), a Master of Science from Columbia University’s Historic Preservation Program in the Graduate School of Architecture (2000), and a certificate in Art and Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art London (2011). Before accepting the position with The Preservation Society in late 2015, Patricia worked for several private conservation firms including Conservation Technical Associates, Jablonski Berkowitz Conservation, and Conservation Solutions. She went on to established 2 Arts Conservation in 2012, specializing in outdoor sculpture and architectural materials. Patricia joined AIC in 2000 and received Professional Associate status in 2004. She is a member of Architecture, Objects, and CIPP groups, and served as Architecture chair from 2010 to 2012. As chair of Architecture she supported outreach initiatives to increase student membership and continue the student paper session at the annual meeting, a program that continues to be popular and well attended across disciplines. Additional involvement with AIC has included article reviews for JAIC and OSG post-prints, program committee member for the 41st Annual Meeting, participation in Angels projects, and volunteer for Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts in NYC. She is also an active member of the  Association for Preservation Technology International (APTI).
