Shirley Ellis has a conservation specialization in textiles. She received a Master of Art Conservation degree from Queen's University and has undergraduate training in textiles from the University of Alberta. Shirley is currently working at the Royal Alberta Museum, assisting with the Renewal project where her work focuses on the treatment and preparation of textiles for display in the new museum. Prior to the RAM, she worked at the Royal Ontario Museum and at the University of Alberta Clothing and Textiles Collection. Her internships took her around the world, fueling her love of travel and included NYC, Belgium and Turkey.
