Sasha Drosdick is currently finishing the last year of her MSc in Conservation Studies at University College London Qatar. From April through July, she was a graduate intern in the Museum of Modern Art’s sculpture conservation department. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Business from Loyola Marymount University where she graduated cum laude (2007), a Masters Certificate in Art Crime and Cultural Heritage Protection from the Association for Research into Crimes Against Art (2012) and a Certificate of Restoration and Conservation from Lorenzo De’Medici Institute in Florence (2012). Field conservation projects include the Easter Island Moai Lichen Removal Project, in Rapa Nui, Chile, through CONAF and the Government of Chile (2012), and the Santuario Madonna della Cava Restoration Project, Marsala, Italy, with the Dipartimento dei Beni culturali e dell'Identità Siciliana (2012). From 2008 to 2015, Sasha worked at the contemporary art gallery Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects, where she became director in 2010. While planning exhibitions, facilitating the production of large scale installations with artists, and overseeing installations at international biennials, she became interested in the range of materials used by artists and the expected life-cycles of contemporary objects.
