Claire Winfield is the Associate Painting Conservator at the Saint Louis Art Museum. Prior to her position at SLAM, she researched the materials and techniques of Henry Ossawa Tanner as a Smithsonian Postgraduate Conservation Fellow at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Museum Conservation Institute and completed a Samuel H. Kress Conservation Fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Lunder Conservation Center. Claire has interned at the Art Institute of Chicago, Kuniej Berry Associates, LLC, the Atlanta Art Conservation Center, and the New Orleans Conservation Guild. Claire is a 2010 graduate of the Buffalo State College Art Conservation Department and holds a B.F.A. in Painting with a minor in Art History from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.
