Friederike Steckling has been Conservator at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel Switzerland since 2001. Trained as a paintings conservator, she received her Certificate of Advanced Study in Conservation and MA in Art History in 1997 from the Conservation Center and IFA of NYU. After several internships in New York museums and a Samuel H. Kress Fellowship at the Conservation Center, Friederike was Assistant Conservator at the Kunstmuseum Basel from 1999 to 2001. At the Fondation Beyeler Friederike Steckling helped establish the conservation department and is responsible for the care of the classical modern collection as well as conservation projects on works of various materials.
