Hayley Monroe is a third year student in the UCLA/Getty Master’s Program in the Conservation of Archaeological and Ethnographic Materials. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in Classics. She gained field experience in the conservation of ceramics, metals, glass and stone at the Poggio Civitate and Ziyaret Tepe Archaeological Projects in Italy and southeastern Turkey. Other experience includes the conservation of decorative arts and ancient Egyptian polychrome stone sculpture at the Museum at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and the conservation and rehousing of basketry at the Yosemite Museum in Yosemite National Park. She is currently finishing her third year (2017-2018) internship in Vancouver, Canada, with both the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia, as well as the Museum of Vancouver.
