Jan Cutajar

Jan Cutajar has recently finished his conservation programme at UCL in September 2016, reading for an MSc in Conservation for Archaeology and Museums. He also holds an MA in Principles of Conservation from the same institution as well as a BSc (Hons.) (Melit.) in Chemistry from the University of Malta. Throughout his studies, Jan has written theses about environmental, and social sustainability in conservation practice, the former of which he presented at the 42nd AIC Annual Meeting. He has also published an article on values-based conservation documentation. As part of his conservation training, he has had experience with on-site conservation at Oldupai Gorge, Tanzania, and has interned with Cliveden Conservation Workshops Ltd and with National Trust at Knole House and Clandon Park. As of 2015, he has been a Zibby Garnett Travel Fellowship Scholar. Jan is currently working at the UCL Institute of Archaeology as a Conservation Research Assistant, where he also acts as a laboratory teaching assistant, whilst engaging in freelance conservation projects. Conservation interests include sustainable practice in conservation, conservation public engagement and conservation science.
