Dr. Suzana Radivojevic is concurrently an Adjunct Faculty in the Historic Preservation Program at the University of Oregon, and a wood scientist and a founder of a research and consulting firm, Ligno Logic LLC. She received her B.Sc.F.E. in wood science and technology from the University of Belgrade in Serbia and her Ph.D. in wood science from the University of Toronto. Her professional experience involves teaching, research and consulting in areas of pathology, preservation and characterization of wood. Her current research focuses on traditional and modern preservation technologies for wood, and specifically on the 20th century wood-based architectural materials through integration of historic and material science research methodologies. She teaches courses on the building pathology, wood preservation technology, and innovation in architectural wood application at the University of Oregon. She has been applying wood microscopy in her work for over 20 years and teaches a hands-on microscopic wood identification course offered through the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training and the The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented internationally.
