Sue is presently working as an independent consultant for museums, archives, and libraries. She is involved in surveying collections and assisting in developing comprehensive preservation plans, as well as advising on the conservation issues for traveling exhibitions. Beginning in 2011, she worked for three years as a Project Manager for the Iraqi Jewish Archive at the National Archives, coordinating a team of 13 conservators, technicians, imaging specialists, translators and a librarian to conserve, preserve, and make that material available through a new website and traveling exhibition. Beginning in 2003, she spent two years leading a team of five conservators and preservation specialists at the Library of Congress to oversee the preservation and stabilization of audiovisual and paper-based archives to prepare for moving the archive to the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center in Culpeper, Virginia. Sue also has ten years experience working in conservation and twelve years in senior administration at the Harry Ransom Center (HRC), The University of Texas at Austin. Her duties at the HRC included establishing and coordinating a capital campaign that raised over $27 million. Sue is an AIC fellow and has recently completed her first two-year term as secretary of the board. She has been a member of the AIC and the Book and Paper Group (BPG) for over 30 years, and served as BPG Chair from 2008-2010.
