Dorothy Cheng completed her MA degree in Conservation Studies at West Dean College in England, in September 2015, specializing in metalwork. As an Edward James Foundation Anniversary scholar, she investigated the impact of a siloxane anti-graffiti coating on Corten® A weathering steel. This project informed the experimental design of the comparative study of coatings for marble that she carried out as a Materials Conservation intern at the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Dorothy has continued to pursue her conservation interests--historic and artistic metal objects and outdoor sculpture--while working with private practice conservators and museums in the Seattle area.
