Kathryn Morales has worked in the Scientific Research Department of the National Gallery of Art for fourteen years. Her focus is the study of works of art using XRF and microscopy, and her current research interest is microspectrophotometry of organic colorants. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a BA in art history and from California State University, Chico, with a BS in chemistry.
